New Vision Services at Norton Audubon Hospital

New Vision Services at Norton Audubon Hospital – In every community, every neighborhood and at every income level, substance abuse is an ever-present and ever-growing issue. But addiction to drugs and alcohol is not merely a social problem, it’s a disease. Norton Healthcare is helping families make the first step in treating this serious disease through a service called New Vision. New Vision is supervised medical stabilization treatment that helps individuals get through the stages of withdrawal so that they are better prepared to start a new life without dependence on drugs or alcohol. Inpatient medical stabilization services are available at Norton Audubon Hospital for adults ages 18 and older. Debi Bennett, a licensed clinical social worker and service coordinator of the New Vision service, explains the concept. Patients typically stay three to five days in the hospital, where they are given the tools they need to continue a successful recovery through community-based programs.
